Do Social Impact Bonds help spur innovation?

Professor Gary Painter, Director at the Sol Price Center for Social Innovation at the University of Southern California, and a Visiting Professor at PERU, presented new findings from collaborative research with staff at PERU on Social Impact Bonds at Oxford University. Gary presented a paper titled 'Are Social Impact Bonds an Innovation in Finance or Do They Help Finance Social Innovation?' at the 2020 Social Outcomes Confernece run by the Government Outcomes Lab at the Blavatnik School of Government. The paper is based on analysis comparing UK and US Social Impact Bonds across a number of dimensions.
